Projects - Rahab's Redemption...
Is the arm of the ministry that ministers and evangelises to prostitutes, harlots and all who patronize and support them. This Ministry regularly goes out to the streets, the brothels and their meeting spots distributing gifts and bibles to the Ladies and sharing with them the boundless love of Jesus without judging or condemning them. The world has many Rahabs's and David's waiting to be saved. May God give us the courage to enter the land. May He give us the eyes to see those who are caged by the darkness but want desperately to be set free.
The Scarlet Rope became Rahab's hope, we desire to give these people a chance to grab hold of the Scarlet rope that Jesus has let down forthem, that they can get a chance to become truely as white as a Snow. As we look upon our dark and depraved world it is easy for us to be discouraged, critical and judgemental. We can try to fix things by controlling the institution of power, protecting ourselves from all outside influences or removing ourselves completely and hiding away. Jesus did none of these things. He was the agent of God's love, pronouncing salvation to the people like Rahab: to a woman who anointed his feet with tears, to another woman at a well in Samaria, to a woman caught in adultery, a tax collector sitting in a tree, a man with a demon. In the midst of a world going to hell, Jesus came tobe an agent of God's loyal love. "Verily I say unto you, that the publicans and harlots go into the knigdom of God before you" (Matt. 21:31).
Scarlet2snow ministries through its Rahab's Redemption outreach attends to women and their children who are seeking shelter, want to be rehabilitated and exit the sex industry.
This target group has been identified to provide relief for those suffering and those in distress. There are currently few organisations in Lagos,who provide this assistance to people within this target group. We try to offer practical help by filling individuals with hope and directing them to healing.
The ministry exists to give people who are suffering and in distress the opportunity to have a better way of life by helping them renew their minds and offering them true freedom through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rahab's redemption has been established to benefit society by assisting those that are currently a cost to society and re-training and re-teaching them skills in how to live, thrive and flourish. In turn it is anticipated that each person can become a contributing part of the community.
What we do
- Monthly Outreaches to both men and women involved in drug abuse, alcoholism, gambling and prostitution.
- One-on-one mentoring with people wanting to make a change in their lives and their future.
- Networking with doctors, counsellor, churches, jobs and housing networks.
- Fund raising events; Partners Dinner in December 2008, Awareness drive Prayer support.
Outreaches
We currently hold monthly outreaches to Empire area in Moshalasi Lagos which is a notorious red light district for prostitutions, drugs and Gambling. We go the brothels and the hoods to minister the love of Christ and the need to change. We have witnessed transformed lives and saved souls through the outreach.
No Greater Love
We hold outreaches on Valentines, Easter and Christmas days, for the 'overlooked' in Lagos. Primarily, to commercial sex workers, their patrons, those affected by drug addiction and gamblers. We go to them at their base and on the streets to share the Gospel and seek means to make life moremeaningful to them by offering love and hope. We also distribute food items and bibles to them which are provided by our various partners and individuals sponsors. These items bring succor to the recipients and are an amazing opportunity tosee heaven on earth. These are inter-denominational outreaches that see the volunteers almost as blessed as the recipients.
Networking
Scarlet2Snow also networks with churches and the community to ensure that the ministries' vision is achieved and that her mission is fulfilled. We are closely linked and network with doctors, counselors, churches, job and housing networks and rehabilitation facilities.We believe in partnering to see people discovering their purpose, identity and dreams fulfilled.
Prayer Support
We are more than willing to provide prayer support with a willing and able team of praying people. We see this as an incredibly pwerful tool in seeing souls saved, lives tranformed and needs met.
Practical needs met
We are dedicated to helping our target audience by helping them meet their practical needs - food, toiletries, clothing, toys for children, support and encouragement.
